I thought about this after reading, in his Leads book, Alex Hormozi comparing his $13M/yr income to Kylie Jenner being a billionaire at 20 years old. Alex said that he felt horrible about it. He used the phrase: Why do I suck so much? And this struck me because it was the same phrase that he used for himself when he was at $0/mo at the beginning of the book.
I realized that while comparing yourself can spur you to work harder in the moment, it also makes you feel like you suck. Why do I suck so much? is something people think whether they're making $0/mo, $10k/mo, or $13M/yr.
And I believe in the truth behind this because I recognize that I do it too.
Comparison is a tool, just don't let it become a mentality.
